It's an interim thing. My intention is to get it running w the existing PLC to reverse engineer the shift sequence before trying to convert to LCNC.  The nice thing is that because the system is so modular, I should be able to pull out the PLC (Deckel calls it the SPS) and transplant LinuxCNC in its place.

The 5/7 is a reference to page and column where the other end of the wire goes.  So in the pdf above the PLC is shown on page 5.

I bought a solid state relay board to isolate the outputs from the FP5NC so I can test to see what the outputs are doing. Hopefully have an idea of what the system is doing by the end of the weekend.

Addendum:    The solid state relays was a bad idea.     Inconsistant on actually 'closing'.   

I have a 8 channel mechanical relay board on the way.
