Wireless router finally working.

I think this should be posted in the Ubuntu forum but might be useful here.
It is very hard to get wireless in Ubuntu but I finally got one working.
I use it to send my cnc files to the mills out in the garage. I use to take floppy disks out and load them but it takes too long to do that with Linux. Much easier to do my programming at my desk and get them via wireless router.

Here is what finally worked for me:
I bought a Netgear WPN111 adapter since it is wireless N and has good range.
Very few adapters work.
I downloaded the driver files from a install in windows XP computer to my Ubuntu desktop.
You use Ndiswrapper utility to install the drivers.
The real secret was turning off my security. No wep or anything else.
I guess Linux has trouble handling the security.
To live without security I just keep a share directory for my files only and not anything else.
