lathe threading, what hardware is needed was created by AeroTec
I am using Mach right now and want to move over to EMC
I have a index sensor on the spindle right now but no encoder.
do I need the encoder to do threading on my lathe, or can I do threading with just the index pulse in EMC?

I would add an encoder as a single pulse per revolution is just not enough to get accurate threads even though EMC will do it AFAIK.
