Hi there! I'm new with EMC but not with Ubuntu. Today I tried to install LinuxCNC on my old PC which I want to use to command the CNC (an AMD Athlon 2000+ 1667MHZ, 512 MB), but got a problem while installing -at step 3 when I have to choose the keyboard layout, after I click the forward button, the cursor is changing and that's all it does (I can click Quit button or those from the taskbar but no other progress from the installer). The live testing was ok, so I can't think about the configuration of the pc being the problem. Any ideas? Thank you!

Are you using the LiveCD? What version are you trying to install?
Older hardware may like the 8.04 version better.

I've tried the live CD, the latest version 10.04.
