Upgrading from 8.04 to 10.04 conversion issues.

I installed 10.04 next to my 8.04 on the same computer which I am glad I did. Now I can try both back and fourth. The issue I found is I cannot copy and paste my highly modified 8.04 files into 10.04 and get them to work. I have a nice pyVCP setup and JOG Pendant I have to get into 10.04 and they don't exactly convert over. Anyone know where the issues are? I find 10.04 is not really much of an improvement so I don't want to spend much time starting from scratch. It is nice to have the latest and greatest though.

It would help if you told us what the error is and what version of EMC was the 8.04.

My 8.04 is version 2.3.5
Can I overwrite the latest version configuration files with my configuration files from 2.3.5? I compared file univpwm servo hal and both versions are identical. I am checking others but a long tedous process.

I checked each file and:
univpwm-tbl is different between versions
univpwm-var is missing in 10.04
emc-nml is missing in 10.04

What should I do with these three differences to upgrade my old configuration files to the new version?
Maybe leave the -var and -nml files out? I am guessing that I need the -tbl file?
