OK so I am trying to set up EMC again.
I have everything working except for homing.

when I hit the Home all button everything moves away from the homing switches.

I have homing/limit switches on X and Y (just some micro switches Normal close)
and I have a touch plate for Z homing.

I re-wired the X and Y switches so that they are separate. X switches on pin 13 and Y switches on pin 15, touch plate on pin 12.

movement is set from 0" to 48" on X and Y and from -3" to 3" on Z

I have been using the free version of Mach 3 for a while now but my drawing have been getting more complicated and the 500 lines of code limit has begun to be too limiting.

I am sure I am just missing something simple but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

Thanks

Put a - sign in front of the home-search-velocity in the INI file.

OK one more question, how do I get it to back off my touch plate after homing Z instead of dragging it across my table? In mach 3 I could just jog Z while it homed the other axis.

Thanks

OK scratch that last question, I got that figured out. I had some of the settings wrong for my touch plate and Z axis. everything works smooth there now.

I am however getting an error on start and I can't seem to find any reference to it anywhere.

"Unexpected realtime delay: check dmesg for details"

anyone got any hints on what that might be?

Thanks

Probably a latency problem.

Double check your latency test, perhaps for a longer time.

Thanks for the link. I was having another problem with my video card driver already, was unrelated I thought, will try different drivers as suggested.

Thanks again.

once I get this fixed then its time for some test cuts.
