is there a way to fake homing of an axis?

I have a 5 axis mill setup at the moment axis A is not completed and therefor not in use.
Axis B rotates the mill head. Axis X, Y, Z and B have homing sensors and work fine.
But I have not yet found a way to get EMC2 ignore that axis A is not homed or fake
a home of A. EMC2 will not operate until A is seen to be homed

Is there some trick to work around this problem?

www.linuxcnc.org/docview/html/config_ini_homing.html

in 0.1.2 Homing Sequence
notice the "none" homing option

when "none" is selected you can just press the home button in Axis
and the selected axis will use its current position as home

I tried this approach but it failed to make EMC2 ignore the unhomed
A axis and EMC2 refuses to go any further.

I will take another look at the ini file perhaps I messed up a line of code
something that causes a problem but dose not show an error.

Found it! The homing sequence number was not specified I set it
so the A axis would be homed after all the other axis and it now
works.

Thanks
