Spindle Scaling for spindle-at-speed command

I am not sure if this is posted somewhere here, but thought I would share.

I found that my EMC 2.4.6/7 with the standard config setup thru PncConf will not recognize the spindle-at-speed command without changing the code scaling. It will rapid to the feedrate start point, but then stop no matter if you adjust the speed, it will not start.

I changed the HAL file code under the Spindle heading, near the end of the file;

"setp near.0.scale .9" to
"setp near.0.scale 1.1"

It now works perfectly. If the spindle is not at speed, it will wait and start when it gets about 10% close. I usually leave the RPM down on a new piece until I can verify it is starting at the right spot, then turn it up so it will start the cut.

Hope this helps!
Nick

I guess it depends on how close your spindle is to commanded speed. I had to twiddle with my spindle drive to get it closer to commanded speed...

This is why near scale is adjustable in 2.5's PNCconf.
If other confirm that 1.1 is a better default I will change it for the 2.4 series.
