Hello,
I have a sherline 4000 lathe. It was running EMC and I had problems getting it to start up. I blew away
the old distro and set up EMC2 (Ubuntu 8.04 Jaunty). I went to run the system, but cannot get the system to jog/steppers to move. It is pre configured for a Sherline Lathe. Our system uses the parallel port controller sold by Sherline (4 axes).
I have the ESTOP turned off and am trying to manually home or move either X or Z axes and nothing.
What could the problem be? I have tried the original parallel port cable and even swapped it out for another, but no joy.

I found out the problem. simple error on my part: The jog rate was defaulted to 0.003in/min which basically means nothing will move. I upped the rate to 2 in/min
and now it jogs normally.
and now it jogs normally.
