tom things kinda suck everywhere at the moment. things have been slow as hell at my work so it's everywhere i think.

China pricing Fu@k's us all on most things. the only thing worth while is a niche market but they come and go so finding them is not always easy but it is possible.

i was kinda depressed the last time i bought stuff on line. i honestly stuck to american companies hoping to see stuff made here but even the top brand stuff is made in china? not sure how things ended up so one sided? i think the large companies sold there souls to China just to pad their bottom line so they could get richer.

As promised, here are some more videos of the T2030 and of the round tube cutter i have built for them a few years back plus the retrofitted chinese CNC to LinuxCNC and oxy/acetylene.
Enjoy.

Hi Tommy
Can you shed a light on how you wired the THC300 inside the cebora ?
I have an old migatronic PDX85 and also got the schematics for it. but I can not quite figure out where to put the thc300 in order for the HF start not to fry it!!. It might be there right in plane sight ( but im mostly a mechanical guy - so electical seems to be my archillies) so I was hoping that you could guide me in the right direction?

Regards.

hey Tom,
Just a few questions, I think you should have faced, but I will have to read the whole thread.
1) How are the belts? better than rack?
2) What you think about float switch?
3) Should the side plate not be a single piece
or light wwight is forgiving?

1) How are the belts? better than rack?

For short distances they are much better than the rack and pinion, silent and no vibrations. 15mm wide GTD3 has proven very nice for 3.3 meters of length on the big machine, but the gantry has to be very light, in my case 23KG gantry with GTD3 belts on each side is OK.

2) What you think about float switch?

I always used and still use float switches, make them very sensitive so they require roughly 2KG of upward force to trigger, and they never fail. I do not use Ohmic sensing as most of my machines are to be used by other users, so i can not afford having issues with it.

3) Should the side plate not be a single piece
or light wwight is forgiving?

If you mean the side plates with logos cut into them, they do not carry anything structural or any weight, so it does not matter much, they just keep the legs from twisting.

No I was talking about Belt drive system.
How a 3mm sheet would work?
