Hello
I'm new to Linus, I'm using Umbuntu 8.04 that was allready setup in the computer from sherline and the post was setup by Bobcadcam.
When I run the program the following message comes up "bad character '134682144. Anyone know what it is and also is there a list of error messages?
Thanks for your help

Yes that is an error in the g-code file no doubt created by bobcram.
Do a search for that string with your favorite text editor and you should find the offending line.

Oh, to answer your other question, no there is not a list of error messages as it would be impossible to maintain. The developers try there best to not make the message cryptic... but sometimes they are a bit at first.

I think "Bad character" can mean an axis-word for an axis you don't have. Axis words are XYZABCUVW.

Usually the message contains more info like
Near line 2 of ...file name
error message
John

I found that bobcadcam puts four numbers after the f speed , so I changed that but didnt help. From what I have been reading the codes seems to look ok.

Attach the G-code to a message and we can have a look at it?
