That is a Lenovo X200 right???
You can not use that laptop to control an actual machine due to way to many power saving options that can not be disabled in BIOS.
I had several X220 and they are magnificent in any way except for actually controlling a machine.
You can use older T40/T41/T42/T43 models or X60 with a docking station (paraport is on the dock), and they are very usable, if you set the latency above 35000.
As for lenovo, install the sim version of linuxcnc so you can check and if needed correct the gcode before transferring it to the machine.

You can update the BIOS but i do not think it will help, and latency on my X220 ( i had several of them ) was over 2000000 (2 milion).
If you can get a latency of 15000 you are all good, but not with a paraport, use a MESA ethernet card like 7i92E, that would be perfect.
