Does anyone have an RTAI kernel and a version 2.9 built on it?

Hi I have an older version 2.8~pre on my router. After moving and unpacking for 3 years, I have assembled it again. New I can see that version 2.9 is what everyone is counting on. Among other things, there are options for a better user interface. But I run it all on printer ports, so an RTAI version is needed. I have tried unsuccessfully to build a version (5.3.3) but it won't work for me. Has anyone made one like this? There is a good one for 2.8 (linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/getting-start...#cha:Installing-RTAI)
But I think there are more of us who could use a version 2.9
Sincerely, Bo

RTAI support was removed from 2.9.

Putting it back is on my list of things to do.

Ok, I'm glad that you still think of us who use the parallel port as communication to our router.
But just take your time.
I appreciate all of you who contribute to the development of LINUXCNC.
Sincerely, Bo

I have 3 Dell Optiplex 980's, that could get 10k-15k Latency with 2.7 RTAI.
Switched to 2.9 and its like 40k-50k, Killing my rapids...

Thank you

The 2.9.1 release includes a version for RTAI.
If you are on Buster with an RTAI kernel then it should just be a matter of updating the apt sources to 2.9-rt and allowing the update to happen.
linuxcnc.org/docs/stable/html/getting-st...dating-linuxcnc.html

If you are not on Buster then install Bookworm, install the RTAI kernel and then install the 2.9-rt version of LinuxCNC.

Hello Andy
it seems that linuxcnc-dev (for rtai) as well as the documentation is not
present in the package?

For the moment it is an update on Buster to 2.8.4 rtai
My configuration works, I finally have enough HAL memory.
Everything is working, remains an "invalid parameter message"
with one of my components :

Sorry, I don't remember why I didn't use the original component?

the exact error message is "Invalid module format"

message.ko compiled under 2.8.4 but not tested by running linuxcnc.
