Why would you want reverse run for a plasma table?

It is very helpful to have it for cases where the arc is lost during a cut or due to plasma overheating, you can just back off a bit and resume cutting.
Without it the procedure would be to run from line after choosing a straigh line somewhere before the arc was lost.
When cuting straight lines that is no issue at all, but when cutting art there are usually a lot of arcs involved.
Not a deal breaker in any way, just nice to have.

Assuming your using Debian 9 my instructions for installing different versions of LinuxCNC are here . You will need to open the Synaptic Package Manager from the System > Administration menu and in Settings > Repositories uncheck the current LinuxCNC repos first.

That makes sense to me, I don't run full out production on my plasma table so I've never experienced a shut down due to over heating.
