I have it working ! The issue is Python3 and compatible modules
I had to install a bunch of stuff:
sudo apt-get install python3-tk
sudo apt-get install python3-numpy
sudo apt-get install python3-pil
python3 -m pip install --upgrade pip
python3 -m pip install --upgrade Pillow
And then the program runs:
python3 ./dmap2gcode.py
I hope this helps others...
