I am a long term fan of LinuxCNC and FreeCad. Unfortunately I am being forced by a client to try Blender 5.0.1 with FabEX 3.0.1 add on because they like the pretty graphics.  In 50 years of computer work I have never seen such a learning curve  non standard monster....yet nifty graphics. My problem is this: I have watched numerous tutorials, noted all the undocumented hot-key commands and slowly created a simple .blend file to machine a simple cylinder to test the gcode this thing creates. Blender Fabex will not create the toolpath; issues some error about version compatability. Do any of you folks know where I can get a SIMPLE WORKING .blend file example already setup for FabEX to do ANY kind of milling to see if can even get the application to run at all. I am VERY frustrated with Blender.  Thanks in advance.

I have no idea what FabEx is, but i am sure Blender does the CAM part on it's own, i am not sure if it is included with it.
Back when i was poised at learning it there was BlenderCAM... i just went to check and found out what FabEx is :)
Did you try their version with it included?

Thanks for the very quick help. Fabex is BlenderCam renamed because of a naming dispute between blender and the author(s) of the CAM add on. 1 week ago I installed the latest Blender 5.0.1 and the latest Fabex 3.0.1 from their official repositories. Due to the famously complex non standard Blender GUI I am not sure I have all the configuration and settings correct. That is why I am looking for a simple .blend file for CNC machining which ALREADY is fully set up to generate GCode.( the resultant Gcode would probably be handy too ). That way I can back check where I might be making a mistake. If you or others have already run BlenderCAM I think any simple/ non confidential file would do the trick.
Cheers and again thanks.
