I have struggling with this for several weeks now....
Even went so far as to send my board back for repair because no output on the board. (non-issue, board tested ok at Mesa)
Running Debian 11 5.10.0-11-rt-amd64
Linuxcnc 2.9
Mesa 7I76E
DM542 Drivers
23HS45-4204S 425 oz. steppers
I have followed Norberts connection sheet, Steppers have green lights and are locked.  ENB is not hooked up on drivers.  I have tried settings anywhere from 200 to 15000.
I have to be missing a setting or something somewhere.
I have included my hal and ini files also (I know they are far from complete, just trying to get something to move.)
Any help is much appreciated!

I apparently had too many thoughts at the same time while I typed the previous post...
*Stepper DRIVERS have green lights and steppers are locked*

Also, I am able to ping the board (@10.10.10.10) and see the firmware, so I know it is connected.

How are you trying to mover the steppers ie are you trying to jog from the keyboard ?

When you use a - in HOME_SEQUENCE = -1 you have to home the machine first before it will jog

Also are you sure it is not moving as you have a very low HOME_SEARCH_VEL = -1.000000 = 1mm/min

I am trying to use the Test/Tune Axis button in pncConf to move the steppers. Changing settings in there as stated above and using the enable button and run or + -

I changed the homing requirement, no change. Changed homing velocity to 200, no change.

The pics you asked for are attached. I have followed Norberts connection sheet and double checked all connections after re-install of my 7I76e.

As a test -build the config and test the config (rather then using pnconf's test) to see if the steppers move. Sometimes the test gets bugs and doesn't work properly.

Does that drive have a switch on the end to change from 24v to 5v, if so make sure it is on 5V

As the DM542T does.

@Clive S: there is no switch for voltage on these drivers.

@cmorley: I tried your suggestion and received an error that linux cannot connect to the board. I had this problem before and PCW got me going, but now im wondering if Linux hasnt been talking to the 7I76e this entire time. My computer sees the board eg. ip a and ping. And now network manager is giving me a error about gateway incompatible with 'never-default'. I have set never-default to false in terminal, but same issue.
