Hi everyone, I have a normal CNC milling machine and it has three home switches, an emergency stop and a probe to detect the part, the card I am using is a MESA 7i96

I have tried various configurations in pncconf for the home/limit switches but it gives me an error.
Can somebody help me?

thanks you

Are the home switches normally open or normally closed?

If normally closed, you need to invert the home switch inputs

Also you have the EStop pin set as an output, this is not correct

normally Open.

If I put the EStop like the switch the LinuxcNC is blocked

How to fix it?

Thanks you so much

OK for normally open switches you don't need inversion.
The error means that when linuxCNC homing detected the home switch,
stopped and then wanted to back-off the switch, it was already open.

Can LinuxCNC overrun the closed switch position at home?
If so, you probably need to change the home switch mechanics
or slow the home search velocity. so it cannot overrun the closed
switch position.

On a 7I96, You should not set any of the GPIO 0 through 11 to outputs
It sounds like you may need to invert the EStop input polarity

eg. the home switch MUST stay triggered all the way to the limit switch.

I don't see any mention of limit switches

My machine is small (300mm x 400mm x 55mm) and it only has three switches and I want them to be the home switches

what I have observed:
If I use normally open switches it doesn't work.

the box inv of the switches does is look for home or one side or other. does not work to set the switch open or closed

If I only put the X axis switch it works fine and it can only be normally closed, normally open it doesn't work. if i put other axis the switchs no work

I want is that there are only three switches at the start of the machine, and when I turn on the machine and press the home button, the machine will look for home and be ready to work

Both normally open and normally closed switches will work
You need to invert the 7I96 inputs for normally closed switches.

_But_ the error you reported seems to indicate that the (normally open)
home switches closed and then re-opened unexpectedly. This most likely
indicates a mechanical or homing setup issue.

Note that this really has nothing to do with the 7I96 or pncconf
