I was wondering how difficult it would be to bring my version of QTplasmaC to the latest version.

I am on version  QTplasmaC C221.153  linuxcnc V2.9.0 -pre 0-5518 – g8ae 2ceb6c

Theoretically you should be able to update to the latest and all "should" go well.

Don't forget that we don't provide any warranty.

If it fails, the way I did it in the past was to start afresh.  I created a real rough config in pncconf and cut and paste in all the ini and hal settings into the file. This does not take very long and I got quite good at it in the early days!

If it fails then it would be best to report the failure so we could fix it.

OK I had another drive with a slightly older version but the same version of linuxcnc so I swapped it out in case it failed which it did.

I thought the warranty was about 10 years.

Do you have a copy of the original config that you could compress and post here?

Was the apt error before the QtPlasmaC startup error?
If so it may pay to remove the linuxcnc-doc-en package and try sudo apt update, sudo apt dist-upgrade again before trying to run QtPlasmaC.

It looks like you have either LASER_OFFSET, CAMERA_OFFSET, or OFFSET_PROBING with an odd Y value.

It shows as -y21.20, I think it should be y-21.20

Yes you are correct well spotted this is from the older version drive that I had.
It has now booted and looks ok.   Is this the latest?

If so I will update with the drive I use. Thanks.

Yes Clive, that is the latest.

We will add a check for errors like that one.
