I really feel like "Oscar the Grouch" :-) now. I deleted the rant. haha.

I find wire EDM fascinating. However it is complicated. For small square sheet metal parts I suggest a bench vise, hack saw and file. :-)
  • fret saw
  • jig saw
  • scroll saw
No need to build my own waterjet to cut one stone with 2 birds.

I wonder if they ended up using the linuxcnc board or not. i was pushing a remora thing because they were using klipper, but i think they eventually just went linuxcnc and made a rpi breakout for it because they dont need as fast stepgen as a cutting cnc. I havent checked in for a while thought

They just posted this, but 15000$ seems a bit far out, although the only thing close to it is BaxEDM and i do not know what that goes for, so might still be OK price.
I wonder if they implemented the "back off on short" functionality, i know someone on youtube did some 10 years ago.

And they use the open source nature to to their benefit with "no cloud, private, etc" , nice.
