here are testing:

7000mm/min
450mm distance.

P = 5
other zero.

any suggestions.

When I move the machine faster (8000mm/min), I get the drive alarm.

Note: the scale error is 100m/div

thanks

As mentioned before, the next step is to tune FF1

You notice the ferror follows the velocity, this means not enough FF1
You should be able to keep adding FF1 until the error is nearly flat

(with too much FF1, the error will go in the opposite direction as the velocity)

However, You may have drive problems/ or at least require drive tuning

if you get errors going faster and if lowering the P term does not make these go away, you may need to tune the drive itself (and I see some oscillation and the end of the velocity ramp-up which may in fact be a drive tuning issue).

Thanks Peter for your attention

Look at this new image

this is more or less what it should be?

one silly question, of how serious the error in this case?

thanks

can you do the same plot at P = 1?

also you can see the you need a little bit more FF1

(since ignoring the oscillation, the following error is in the same direction as the velocity - not flat)

You have not lost FF1, it just shows up better when P is lower

The lower the P the more the the FF1 error will show up

so now adjust FF1 for flattest ferror trace
(ignore the "spikey" errors for now)

Note that the changes in FF1 should be very small at this point say .01 at a time

Good so now FF1 is done, next: P

P of 5 seemed to be on the edge of oscillation so maybe try 3 or 4

peter,

these are the results.

the same values:

300mm distance
7000mm/min

FF1 goes away, I have to put in 50m/div to read.

that's okay?

No, something is wrong if FF1 is not independent of P
