Hello, this is my first time installing linux cnc (6i25 and 7i77D to Anilam 1100M retrofit) and I'm have a little bit of trouble. I have all my axis figured out and wired up. Right now I am trying to get my spindle all wired and I am very lost at this point. Some sleep would help, but so would your opinion. I have a Saftronics PC3 VDF for spindle control (The VDF that yaskawa made a million of under different names) but I am lost on where the the wires match up to my 7i77D. Looking for help, the pins I am occupying on the VFD are pins 1, 2, two in pin 6, 8, 11, and FLT -B & -C. Those are all the pins that led to the original distribution board. imgur.com/gallery/khvM4PS

Mesa TB5 >>>>VFD
21 >>>>>>>>> 6
22 >>>>>>>>> 1
In case the spindle stays on, reverse the above 2 pins.
23 >>>>>>>>> 11
24 >>>>>>>>> 8

That is for forward only, in case you need reverse it is better to use two outputs from Mesa 7i77D and wire them to pins 1 and 2 on the VFD, but that would require wiring 7i77D ground to pin 6 on the VFD, so might be much better to use two relays for that.
The VFD manual says that the inputs 1 and 2 are optically isolated but it does not say that for the common pin 6. It should be isolated and that can be checked with a DVM/multimeter, but it is safer to use relays.

Thanks, I have forward all wired up with a relay this morning. Should be able to test here soon. What about FLT -B and -C? Wire them up to field power and one of the board inputs? I don't really comprehend what those two wires are for

FLT = fault
That is a fault output from the drive to the Mesa board, so you can set that in hal to stop the machine and alert to what drive exactly caused the error.

Oh, makes sense. And would it be ok if I established a connection with you for simple questions? The mill is about 90% wired up and now I'm just stumbling through the finishing steps
