won't output a proper signal was created by MAT
Recently I've been trying to controll a stepper using parallel port.
So before everything, I wanted to make sure that it was giving the right signal, which should be a train of pulses, using a oscilloscope.
I've tried everything but I was only able to observe a signal which is similar to elettric noise.
Whath sould I look? Whath could be wrong?
Thanks for any advice.

What PC?
Is it a built in port?
Are you using a grounded power cable?
Having said that, do mind the scope use with and without grounded appliances.
And as a quick test, there is an included port tester with Linuxcnc, in the config chooser.
Open that, use a short piece of wire between pins 10,11,12,13, 15 and ground while watching the on screen LED's, they should change color when shorted to DB25 frame/shield.
