StepConf for G540 was created by T_Brown
I just finished construction on my first gantry style router and have moved on to implementing the software and am having some trouble. Here are some specs:
G540 Controller
Keiling KL23H2100-35-4B 381 oz-in steppers
1/2"-8 2 Start Acme
Table size ~ 22 x 44

My first problem is in the StepConf wizard. Here is what i think i should have:
Motor Steps: 200
Driver Microstepping: 10
Pulley Teeth: 1:1
LeadScrew pitch: 4
Velocity: 5 in/s
Accel: 185 in/s^2

Does this all look correct? The problem that i am having is that when i test the axis and run it for 15" it doesnt actually more 15". then when i run the test EMC2 Axis g-code on the splash screen, it run it extremely small ~1/4" tall. Something just doesnt seem quite right. also when i try and use any of the other example g-code files, i get errors that it will exceed my y-axis minimum or and error that line xxx will exceed joint 1's something or other. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

more info would help.
As soon as the test axis failed you knew it wasn't going to work right.
my calculation for scale is 8000 is that what stepconf gave?
it may be that you are losing steps.
your acceleration looks very hi to me.
But at this point you have not told us what you have tried to fix the problem nor much info about the problem.
How short of 15" is it?
either you are missing steps or the info you entered is wrong.
with the test axis try moving exactly 1 " and measure how much it actually moved.
