I was fighting with a new computer I am building
(at the same time I  am updating software on two makerspace PCs)
and I realized , why not use linuxCNC for an install OS just for testing, while I dig out a working product key for windows 10?

y'know, just for curiosity

wouldn't install
not even live version
get to the selection menu, click on any option, and install tries, but eventually fails, usually with a locked up blank screen

got fed up, grabbed a windows 10 ISO and installed first try

In BIOS, UEFI and secure boot must be disabled for installing free edition of Debian.
Also on some PC 'compatibility mode' must be enabled.
BTW, i have several new AMD systems, B550, X570, X470, B450, all work with LinuxCNC, but one had very bad latency so i exported it to USA together with my brother ! :)
