I wonder if you could run the DOS setup program with WINE?

DOSEMU would seem a more likely candidate ( to help stuff up the mother board).

See if you can create a bootable DOS USB stick using the instructions here:
www.bootdisk.com/pendrive.htm
Specifically, the HP utility.
I recently used that to boot my Linux machine into DOS to reflash a servo drive.

I just remembered that there is a utility to create a bootable USB stick in Ubuntu 10.04.It might be possible to use that to create a bootable DOS image.

Ihave an old K6/2 based machine which runs win98.
Keep it alive because it runs both PCI and ISA buss slots.
Used it to make a boot floopy and then canibalised it for a floppy drive etc.... you get the picture.
Bios is updated, latency runing three instances of glgear on the jetway board with a 2 GHz C7 processor is under 10000 ( 96642 to be precise).
Thanks forYour inputs
P.S. K6/2 is reconstituted.
EDIT I did create a bootable USB stick and tried variousboot options in bios to no avail.
