Been using the forum for a while now figured I'd give back.
I'm a mechanical engineer, with this forum i have been able to;
install linuxcnc
Double printer port and working with linuxcnc
Lathe threading with only single pulse by npn sensor (and get decent results)
Etc... (I'll share my hal later if anyone is interested)
Not a programmer or electrical engineer, so it is in excel. While lock/protected that's just to help keep selections to certain cells. But no password / blank password so if any daring programmer wants to python it.

If you want to attach an Excel file then you might need to Zip it.

You did 110000 miles on a Yamaha?!?!?
Damn, that is 176000 KM! I have read plenty on the net that Japanese bikes can not do more than 40000, was geting scared that my 41 year old XS500 would give up the ghosts soon! Now i am not scared anymore, it stil runs perfectly. The prvious owner did 11000 on it, i did 18000 in 3 years and i rarely ride.
Sorry for steping out off topic.

no worries, it's all about maintenance. Just like with our machines, while most would find it useless i do a warm up cycle to spread the oil and get things moving. I do the same with my bike and truck, warmups and oil changes and my combo mill/lathe i got for free works better than most others which have spent a considerable amount lol. Especially with linuxcnc and using the right numbers, i see a lot of estimates but nothing concrete or solid really. Hence why i made my excel spreadsheet lol. though i keep thinking i am forgetting a bit of stuff..
