G-code optimization was created by mighty_mick
Hello.
I wanna reduce my part processing time by optimizing generated g-code. Currently i am using Fusion360 as CAM program. I've seen some optimizers that says we save %20 of your time. For complex pieces, it would be very useful to save any time.
Do you guys know any G-code optimizer as i mentioned? I need it to save time in context described below:
1- By increasing the feed rate of unnecessary movements. (Returning to first position without processing the piece, free movements)
2- By eliminating free moves as much as possible
I would appreciate any information.
Thank you.

I've generally considered such things as being part of the CAM program itself. The better the CAM program, the more optimal the tool pathing. I have not used Fusion 360 so can't comment on the efficiency of the code it tends to generate. But considering the source I wouldn't be surprised if it were purposely inefficient, and more efficient options are pricey upgrades.

yeah, but all defaults are inefficient. efficiency comes from proficiency and optimization. learn best practice, and how to make full use of the settings in your cam, and you dont need that nonsense. modify your post and defaults properly to suit your process and it will be better than some secondary post. unless fusion is intentionally stifling
but it really depends on what your doing that you need to save time, because optimizers probably wont understand everything. if you are just doing contours and need some traveling salesman kinda stuff your cam should be able to do that on its own.
