Here is my heavy modified version...... This module does not have the display all fields if no fields specified feature.  It does xy plots and has sample delay option.  You can also hide a field, this is so you can use the field (with scaling/samp delay) for x values in xy plot without the field also being plotted on a time scale.

Thanks for the code @trubostew. I liked your idea of doing the options work in the numpy array rather than trying to do it all in the main loop. The change simplified the option processing. I added your delay option as well. My new version is in github now.
