So you are saying that you commented out the HOME_SEQUENCE  lines
in the ini file and then got:

1. Individual axis check boxes for homing in the GUI (Axis)
2. When you selected an axis and pressed the Home Axis
button, the selected axis did not move?

Other questions:

What version of LinuxCNC are you running?

(not that this is likely an issue with an official release since there are probably more than 100000 LinuxCNC installations
using home switches)

So the real question is what is different about your configuration?

Thank you, they were messed up. We ended up making a new config and the homing now works. We had skipped a section in pnnconfig that enabled homing. It is unclear in the documentation.

But in reply to someone saying my home switch wasn't connected, it was. And I don't see where my mesa inputs are wack. What is interesting is that in my new config the homing works and the hal and ini files are almost identical to the old config. So that is odd. But any-who problem fixed.
