hey do you mind sharing your config? I have a similar lathe

I could re invent the wheel but might as well check out what you did.

No problem, I'm next to the machine tomorrow, so I'll post the configuration files here.

awesome

I think most of it makes sense

hey because you send me the whole config I saw all andys lathe macros.

I have not dived into glade or pyvcp much yet

if I changed all the hal connections to suit my hardware how hard do you think it would be to get the lathe conversational stuff working just on a sim? I can handle the hal connections fine I think and the ladder logic makes sense

regards

Andrew

Yes it is a complete configuration so it should work if you change it.
What hardware do you use?

I use a mesa 6i25 and 7i77 - 7i84 combo

i am pretty confortable changing mesa pin names etc. its just the pyvcp stuff that I get stuck with.

I have three weeks off over christmas and all my servos just turned up so I will attack this then and hopefully we can all work it out.

I would like to use a stock standard linuxcnc if I can rather than pathpilot

but will just see how good axis can be with the modifications

regards

Andrew
