Motenc Lite default output state was created by dpremus
I am working on retrofit one mill machine with two
Motenc Lite card v 2.2 and everything works OK,
except when PC is booting.
When PC starting some outputs randomly goes ON.
After starting HAL everything works OK. Software turns OFF all outputs and
outputs works OK.
Is this normal behaviour of Motenc lite card or
I am doing something wrong ?

Hi
The pins of the parallel port are in an unknown state until LinuxCNC has 'taken them over'.
This is probably what you are seeing.
For this reason I always start LinuxCNC first and then unlatch my EStop which isolates all the power to the drives and spindle.
regards

Thank you for your answer ArcEye.
Motenc card are PCI-a card and pins on that card are memory mapped,
but I not sure if this card perform some kind of initialisation on startup.
I am trying to figure is this card is OK or damaged.
I am planing to put some external mcu as watch dog
for this card and when hal thread is down this mcu
will keep power down for all output relays.
