Mesa 5I20/7I33 following error was created by maufissi
Hi,
Hope you can help me on this:
I have a Sanyo Denki servo motor (Q1AA10150DXS00M) and RS1A05 servo driver controlled in velocity mode with +/-10V signal by mesa 5i20 and 7i33 servo interface. I did set up the 5i20 ini file but get axis following error as soon as I enable the axis driver through linuxcnc axis interface. Do you have any suggestion on what I should look into to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
Maurizio

check follow error in your ini file and increase the value , the default value may be too low , this causes the axis to fault the second you try to move

In addition to increasing the following error in the HAL file for initial tuning, you need to make sure that the feedback loop is working and has the proper polarity so the PID loop has negative feedback, otherwise the servo will "run away"
If the feedback _is_ backwards ,and you are starting with the hm2-servo example file _and_ the encoder (DRO) direction is correct you should change the sign of the OUTPUT_SCALE parameter to restore the proper negative feedback
