It is finding the module, so the "not found" error is spurious.

Can you try this slightly complicated sequence.
Open 2 terminal windows.
Terminal 1:

You might also run
sudo dmesg -c
before you start. This will clear the kernel log.
The only interesting parts are what are added to the log
by Andys command sequence.
