Hi Micges,

Flashing the 6i25 was done with the linuxcnc live cd. It is the 2.7 wheezy linuxcnc I have used.
As far as i know that version is 32bit. FYI.

Hi,

Hi micges thank you once more for your time you have spend with me figuring out the 6i25 is working now....

THE 6i25 IS WORKING NOW!

First I thought it was due to a System update where new kernels where installed.
But now I figured out it is related on how the Installation of Linux was done.
Installing with UEFI Bios --> 6i25 not working.
Installing with Legacy Bios --> 6i25 is working.

This was selectable on bootmenue of my Mainboard, but first not recognized by me.

For now everything is ok on my System.

I have similar problem; tried 2 PCs. On both 6i25 is disabled in UEFI and enabled in legacy mode. Tried switching between 5i25 and 6i25 modes.
But mesaflash reports that no boards are found.
Attached output of dmesg and lspci commands.
I am using latest Debian version from LinuxCNC website.

From your lspci
02:00.0 DPIO module [1100]: Device [2718:5125] (rev 01)
	Subsystem: Device [2718:5125]
Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster- SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B- DisINTx-
	Status: Cap- 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 11
	Region 0: Memory at f7e00000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
That is the 5i25.

The lspci report indicates the the board is accessible (as a 5I25)

Make sure that you leave the 6I25 jumpered for 5I25 mode or you will have access issues.

But it is 6I25, not 5I25.

Jumpers are:
W1 DOWN
W2 DOWN
W3 DOWN
W4 UP
W5 UP
W7 UP
W8 UP

And it reports 66MHz.

That will likely not work, (not meet timing) you must jumper the card for 5I25 mode to use 5I25 firmware (the default)

I just switched to default jumper positions:
W1 DOWN
W2 DOWN
W3 UP
W4 UP
W5 UP
W7 DOWN
W8 UP

Result is still the same:
user@denc:~$ mesaflash --device 6I25
No 6I25 board found
user@denc:~$ mesaflash --device 5I25
No 5I25 board found

dmesg and lspci outputs are provided.

Does LinuxCNC see the card?

This is the part I did not figure out for now.

I tried loading the configuration from PnCconf, but LinuxCNC crashed because some timer was not found. I commented out two lines in the .ini file, and LinuxCNC launched, but I do not know where I can see if it found the card.

Should I just try running some G-code?

This is my first time with MESA and LinuxCNC, but I have experience with industrial CNC machines, 3D printers, Linux, software development, and electronics.
