Controller rebuild Ideas please was created by Ozcnc

I have been thinking about building a new controller and would like to hear you opinions and suggestions.
Currently I have 5 stepper drives in the following configuration:
2 X-Axis
1 Y-Axis
1 Z-Axis
1 Rotary_A-Axis.
VFD for Spindle.
E-Stop
Cooling fluid/mist spray.
Tool changer but will probable never use it.
0-10v and other typical configurations.
What I like to add to my new controller is 4-5 encoders for say 3-4 Axis and 1 for MPG.
Max amp at this stage is 3.5 Amp and not sure if I will every need 7 Amps or higher.
Would it make any difference if I chose a power supply of 40V vs say 80V for particular drives.
The next question is what BOB, and Drives to use.
I would also like anti-resonance if possible.
I have encoders, drives and the axis's mentioned.
Some considerations that I have already in mind are: Gecko, Keling, Leadshine, etc...
Thanks,
Oz
