Would a G53 move to the top of travel be a way to find a known-state?

Maybe not, But that would allow for the longest possible move up and the best chance of getting rid of the offset in one move.

Possibly that may also cause a limit switch to be triggered?

Once an axis is homed a G53 move on a properly configured axis will not go out of soft limits. Add in the thc component and it's still not likely to happen positive offsets are removed at once and negative offsets are removed by the distance of the offset IIRC. I'm not near a computer so painfully using my android phone. In practical terms if the material has a .250 warp then at .250 Z move will remove the offset

In my situation homing did not help - the value remains inadequate. I should close application, clear stepper var files and last-position file, and only after restart application homing will reset to adequate value. I still have no clue what lead to the accumulatio of the error.. I have about 450 pierces on single sheet, and normaly I got error saying that next instruction will exceed z axis limit (in my case from -5 to +45 mm) after 50-100 cuts. I also noticed that when the thc is on from UI panel z axis does slight shift. From the thc comp code I didn't find anything what could make this happen.. magic..

Have you tried adding the extra Z move(s)?

That was my understanding, I just wondered if the Z axis had very limited movement and the correction was greater than the available movement. But in that case it seems an error code is more likely than a limit switch.

By the way the THC works great for me.

Good point Rick, if Z is already at the maximum height then you don't have enough room to zero the offset.

Yes, it seems everythign works fine now. I have increased move by z for 10 mm and reduced maximum speed for the z axis twice.
