How long can the cable between the mesa PCI-e card and the breakout 7I11 be?

In my case, if I can have about 8 feet between the card and the breakout, that'd be really nice, as I could then put the computer in an already-present enclosure.

10 Foot cables are OK if true IEEE1284 type and you don't have a very noisy electrical environment

If you use a longer cable, make sure you use the latest 5I25 firmware (from the 5i25.zip file at mesa)
and that you are using the latest LinuxCNC version (2.7.4) and both of these have improvements
to reject and not overreact to occasional noise spikes

@PCW - Are you the manufacturer of the Mesa cards?

If so, why is the 7I77-6I25 PLUG-N-GO KIT out of stock, when the individual components are in stock? Also, how long is the cable that comes with the kit?

Thanks.

It just depends on how they are allocated

Standard P&G cables are 6 feet long

If mesa doesn't have what you need in stock, you can also try www.mesaus.com

Mesaus.com doesn't have the 6I25-7I77 combo kit at all.

I emailed This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. last week, and haven't heard back from them at all. Are they normally very slow to answer?
