DDMMV2 work with Linuxcnc? was created by estes53
Here is the manual-
www.soonwell.com/ebay_file/user_manual/DDMMV2.pdf
I am new to this and have gotten the impression that if it works for Mach3 it will also work for Linuxcnc.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanx, Alan

The link you gave does not work, but I think I managed to find it.
The stepper control via the Parallel port should work, but you will not get any of the USB-based IO with a LinuxCNC system.

I wasn't planning on using USB for control and in fact thought the connection was for power only.

OK, now something else is confusing me.
Page 10 of the manual shows a driver board between the controller and the motor.
I thought a controller was also a driver.

I think that the device in question is just an opto-isolation board, not a stepper driver.

In that case, I probably should stick with my original plan.

Probably, it contains motors and drivers, and looks a lot more conventional.
