				Hello
How to check a Mesa 7i76e if it is defective.
I got my Mesa 7i76E early March directly from Mesashop.
I can't get the iHSV57-36 stepper to work.
When I enter data into Linuxcnc 2.8, the pointer goes in the desired direction but
The motors don't move. My Hal and Ini were adapted from the Talla83.
If I measure the outputs X,Y,Z from the map I get the following result.
X Dir + and Dir- 0 Volt and with Step + and Step- also 0 Volt
Y Dir + and Dir- 0,25 Volt and at Step + and Step- 5 Volt
The motors go with a rotary encoder .
Is now my card defect

Did you happen to connect 5V to the enable pins on the stepper driver? If you did, remove it as its stepper disable signal.

If Step+ and Step- ( or Dir+ and Dir-) are at the same voltage (and they are not shorted externally) This means the output drivers have been damaged, one should always be the opposite of the other ( if +StepN or +DirN is 5V -StepN or -DirN must be 0V and vice versa)
Note that you cannot measure the pins on the green connectors via the screws
on the top of the connectors unless the screws are tight.

A cable has been connected to measure
How do I get returns approval to return the card?

Did you measure _between_ the + and - step/dir pins with a voltmeter?
If the result of this measurement is not ~5V or ~-5V when LinuxCNC is idle
then the output drivers have been damaged somehow. If this is the case you can request a RMA number at sales.mesanet.com

Note, I tried to reply to your email to Mesa but it bounced, do you have an email address that works?

				Received your 7I76E card
No problems were found, all I/O including step/dir outputs are OK
I suspect you have a pinout or wiring error of some kind
