Hi Guys,

I am setting up my leadshine ES-D1008 drives to work with my Mesa 7i76e,

My question is with Pulse + and Direction +, can I daisy chain the the Pulse - and Direction - and run them to the ground pin on the 7i76e.

So for the first axis it would look like this,

Step + = TB2-3
Dir + = TB2-5
Step - = TB2-1
Dir - = TB2-1

That has been discussed in another thread, but not wiring "-" together on the Mesa board, just leave them unconnected.
GND should be used as common, not -dir/-step.
So to recap:
+step from Mesa to +step on the drive
+dir from Mesa to +dir on the drive
GND on Mesa to -step on the drive
GND on Mesa to -dir on the drive
same for enable.

the mesa can handle the ES-10x direct no need for a extra controller
you will get a better performence id you go bidirectional as the 7i76 has the +- to the ES-D1008 and let the Linuxcnc do the Fault check on the Following
as well as the servo tuning/speed will give you a better performence to direct connect

its the Real Driving Stage to the HBS86H that the china guys provide

Both the drive and mesa support differential signaling(that's what the + and - pins are for) so you can just connect the step + and - on the mesa to the step + and - to the drive directly, the same with dir pins. This is preferable if you have longer cables since it reduces noise.

The connection diagram you'll want is the first one on page 9 in the ES-D1008 manual.
