5i25 & 7i76 not working after power supply replacement was created by travis1581
I had to replace the power supply on my mill PC due to it failing (well, me physically breaking it). Anyway, since it is in the same case as my drives, I had to unplug a few things in order to access the power supply. Im fairly confident that I plugged everything back in properly as everything that is supposed to be supplied with voltage has the proper voltage on it. Anyway, the computer boots without issue, but when I go to load my machine configuration, I get the error message that is attached. My thoughts are as follows:
I am using a 5i25 with a 7i76 to drive 3 DMM DYN2 drives. Should I order a new riser cable or does the report lean more toward the 5i25 not being configured? Thanks in advance.
- It could be the riser cable I have between my PC & 5i25 Mesa Card. The cable is pretty flimsy and may have been damaged in the repair
- It appears that the 5i25 lost its flash.

The card is found by the system/BIOS:
[ 0.144268] pci 0000:01:03.0: [2718:5125] type 00 class 0x110000
[ 0.144287] pci 0000:01:03.0: reg 10: [mem 0xdfee0000-0xdfeeffff]
[ 0.144308] pci 0000:01:03.0: reg 14: [mem 0xdfee0000-0xdfeeffff 64bit]
But the hm2_pci driver doesn't like something about it (I don't seen any details unfortunately):
Error: could not insert module /usr/realtime-3.4-9-rtai-686-pae/modules/linuxcnc/hm2_pci.ko: No such device
lspci may provide more info or
sudo mesaflash --device 5i25 --readhmid
could also provide a hint
My suspicions would be a broken wire in the riser

That was it! I looked at the riser cable and the first 6 or so cables had been ripped at the solder joint. I ordered a new riser cable and everything is working as it should!
