Why a 3B?  I happen to have one :-)
Why the 7i90HD?  It seems like 7C81's are out of stock right now.

So, questions:
Can I use this:
store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...oduct&product_id=355

will it fit the 7i90 or is it only intended for use on 7c80 and 7c81?

I have read that it is probably better to use 714TAs on the 26 pin headers as a form of voltage protection.  Initially the intention is to feed a Gecko G540 from one of the headers and nothing more, is a 714TA needed for this?

Thanks.

Yes, you could use a 7I90 but the cabling/mechanical connections
are a bit awkward. You can connect a 7I90 to a G540 electrically
since a G540 functions as a BreakOut Board (BOB) but again its
not a direct mechanical connection because of the connector
differences. The 7C81 should be available fairly soon so I would
wait for that.

Thanks Peter,

That approach would be much easier.

When do you think the 7C81's might be available?

Thanks Peter,

The 3B went to another project, but I have decided to acquire a 4 to play with. This opens up some other possibilities, I think I should start another thread for those.
