Mesa 7i96 + CL86T closed loop stepper driver alarm question was created by domse
Hello everyone,
I have a mesa 7i96, running +12v as input common. Trying to wire in CL86t closed loop stepper driver alarm into a mesa input. If I connect input common to CL86T ALM+ and input 1 to CL86T ALM-, I get -0.4V on the mesa input. If I switch the wire polarity, I get +0.4v on the input. I don't understand why 1) I get such a low voltage, and 2) I get the voltage inverted.
Really lost here, because in another post there is an instruction on how to wire it, and I *think* i did it right. (forum.linuxcnc.org/27-driver-boards/4384...per-driver-questions)
Thanks

If 7I96 input common is +12V then all inputs will be activated by
connecting them to 12V ground.
So wiring would be:
CL86T ALM+ --> 7I96 input 1
CL86T ALM- --> GND (12V GND)
connecting them to 12V ground.
So wiring would be:
CL86T ALM+ --> 7I96 input 1
CL86T ALM- --> GND (12V GND)
