I think the only current way is to build from source

Thanks, I seem to remember that wasn't a lot of fun.. I may try it again..

Hi,

I have Debian 11 Bookworm with kernel 5.19.6-1 installed on Lenovo ThinkCentre M910Q. The machines Network Card is trusty Intel I219-LM and I have fresh Mesa 7i96S

I had no issues with Mesa.

Can anyone with problems about the 5.x kernel test it with Intel Network card (PCIe)

The problem is many USFF PC's don't have a PCI slot and the manufacturer went with a realtek nic soldered to the main board so its nit as easy as that!! I think its already been determined it is not an issue with intel chips.

The problem with 5x kernel does happen with Intel MACs
but only on some PCs.

(which may indicate its not really sensitive to the MAC but some other hardware)

In my experience, on affected systems, the latency gets worse when there is
lots of video activity, so perhaps a video driver issue is involved.

I would tend to agree with PCW on this, latest Linux distros use "wayland" as screen output, while the older used the tried and tested "xserver".
I have an HP laptop that will not work with any new distro, black screen-hard reset, while it is very happy with Mint 19.3.
Another thing pointing in that direction, i test a lot of PC's with the latest distros and as far as i recall i never had droped link due to using 5.nn kernels out of maybe 15 to 20 different PC's from fairly old to my new-ish Ryzen 7.
Need to test a wayland distro to see if that is the case.
Yeah, most of this testing i have done with Debian 12/testing and Mint 20.
