7i96s + 7i84 was created by Lord
Good afternoon,
I would like to connect a 7i96s to a 7i84 but do not quite understand how exactly this is done. Reading the manuals and comments in this forum, I figured that I have to connect 7i96s via P1 to the ethernet port of 7i84. However P1 has 26 pins and requires an IDC26 female plug and an RJ45 has 8 connectors. tommylight stated in one of his comments that a RJ45 cut in half would do the job. However, I don't know how exactly I connect these two boards.
Appreciate your help, thanks in advance

The 7I84 connects to 7I96/7I96S TB2 pins 15..20
The cable connections are described on page 11 of the 7I96S manual

Thank you for your fast answer. From which side (bottom/top) (ethernet port is left hand sided) do I count TB2 pins? In other words: where is TB2s pin1 located?

Pin 1 of TB1,TB2,TB3 is at the bottom
If you look at the drawing on page 5 of the manual the pin 1's are marked with a square and the
serial expansion interface ( TB2 pins 15..20 = 6 pin plug ) is labeled "SERIAL"
Also on the board itself, a white rectangle is used to mark pin 1

thank you for your help
As far as I understand, I don't need to mesaflash anything to get 7i84 to work.
How do I supply power to 7i84? Is this done via the ethernet cable? If not, how else?
Thanks again for your help
