As far as I can tell from the manual, that drive can do analog velocity mode but needs to be programmed properly
(the LF parameters)

do you have the Keypad/display module?

At the minimum you need to set LF2 = 4
This sets the drive into analog +-10V velocity mode

You probably also have to set all the accel and jerk limit parameters to maximums (or disable if possible)

was this drive used with a CNC machine?

It seems to be a drive for a elevator :-)

All the drives are from a isel router and we want to change to linux as its old system . We have enable the drive and i can see in linux the encoder but as it is in torque i cant drive it from a 7i77

You can use torque mode with a 7i77. The loop is a little harder to tune, but it works.
Both my servo machines run torque-mode (8i20 drives).

No, it looks exactly the same. The proportions of P, I, D and FF in the PID control loop will be different, but they are different for every machine anyway.

There is the option of using nested control loops (with a speed control loop controlling torque and a position control loop controlling the speed control loop) and that is something I intend to experiment with. but it isn't necessary to make a working machine.
