Hi Dan,

I was told by the MeshCam guy via phone that it will accept and export STL files. However I did the sample program they show in the Quick Start guide and the file extension is a .nc and my EMC2 doesn't recognize it.

You can add recognizable file extensions in the INI file under the heading [FILTER[ program extention:

www.linuxcnc.org/docs/2.4/html/config_ini_config.html#sub:[FILTER]-Section

oops I may have understood this wrong ... I need to test it

"file extension is a .nc and my EMC2 doesn't recognize it." If your .nc file is in a text editor other than gedit, EMC2 won't read it and you would need to open your .nc file with gedit and save as a gedit file.

I have also tried Free CAD and just could not get my head around it but if you can handle the learning curve Blender is really good for 3D modeling and has STL export abilities.

Cheers Paul
