Stock Removal was created by electrosteam
I am progressing with CamBam and have completed several simple jobs.

My next effort is cut a chuck 'C' spanner out of a piece of 40 x 5 stock.
I can easily accomplish this with a conventional profiling operation with a full cutter width and stepping down.

What intrigues me, however, is that I cannot find any references in CamBam, or elsewhere, describing a cutter side operation stepping sideways to remove the stock.
But it does seem common to clean up stock with a full depth side flute cut.

Is sideways stock removal regarded as poor practice ?
If Ok, how does one define the stock dimensions for the CAM ?

Keep well,
John.

Thanks for the prompt response and help.
My cursory look at the documentation was insufficient.

In CamBam, it appears the stock is restricted to a rectangular shape.

I have FreeCAD installed, time for me to get it operational.

John.
