FWIW my work on the adaptive toolpaths got merged in FreeCAD- it's in the weekly builds. See: forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?t=96548
tl;dr is it adds a more-or-less one-click "rough the entire model" mode and- perhaps more relevantly- properly evaluates the stock and model instead of blindly projecting the contour you specify. Put differently, it's far smarter about not machining into the model, including avoiding areas it can't reach in 2.5D due to overhanging geometry. The attached image shows that on a demo model I threw together.
Not world-changing, but still a really nice QoL upgrade if you like adaptive toolpaths. Plenty of other... quirks... in FreeCAD remain, of course, but it's getting better all the time if you're not afraid of the weekly builds.

That's a really nice improvement, can't wait until the next release to try it out.

So it's December 31st 2025 and I am curious if Fusion 360 will actually stop working on my Windows 10
machine at 12:00am January 1st 2026. As I write this message it's 3:20 pm and currently Fusion 360 is
still operational. I will keep it logged on to Linuxcnc and Fusion 360 and update on my findings.
With that said I am sure it is already January 1st somewhere in the world . Has any one tried seeing if
Fusion 360 still works for them on Win 10?

RodW and "unknown" are in Australia so they are already in 2026, and i think both used Fusion360 at some point in time, and they both monitor the "recent topic" section of this forum, so maybe they chime in, granted new years day so might, might be hangover ...With that said I am sure it is already January 1st somewhere in the world . Has any one tried seeing if
Fusion 360 still works for them on Win 10?

Not I, I'm Linux only. Also a complete non-drinker, I had my share enough in my teens and early 20s.

Yeah, sorry, might have mixed you with PhillC, i have a very nasty habit of messing up names... and most probably you would too if you lived here where every person has one of 15-20 names used here. I was convinced this is my problem till about 15 years ago when i noticed i have no issues with complicated names that are not common here, but still the habit lingers ...
Also a non drinker.
23:58 here and the fireworks started....
Happy new year to all.

Well it's almost 8:00pm or 20:00 here in Florida. Just 4 hours to go. Some sporadic fireworks here and there. Though tonight
I think I will have a drink, not that I see much to celebrate. It just seems fitting given what 2025 has been.

Sorry not much help as I am in British Columbia, Canada ATM so similar time zone to the OP (not 2026 yet!). I cancelled my F360 subscription and have been using Onshape to create STL files for 3D printing. I think when I get back to needing CAD, I will try Freecad on Linux (Did I tell you I detest Windows?) There is collaboration between our devs and theirs starting with their tool handling API so I think it will be worth playing with.

Well they could charge your credit card like they did for me! Took a bit to get that reversed...
Also cancelled my adobe subscription.
Unfortunately, I have to boot Windows to run the Anycubic Slicer for my 3d printer so I am not shuffling gcode and USB drives.
There was a time I knew Windows backwards, now I am a bit bamboozled by it!
